Christian Service

The Christian Service Commission is dedicated to the ministry of serving the temporal needs
of our St. Anthony family and surrounding community. Outreach programs include:

• Food Closet: A variety of food items are kept in the Food Closet and are available to anyone in need. Every second Sunday parishioners are invited to bring in food items to replenish the closet. If you are in need of food, or know someone who is, please let us know.
   

• Homebound Service: Christian Service offers a variety of homebound services such as running errands, visitation, Communion visits to our sick and shut-ins, or providing transportation to Mass.
   

• Pro-Life Activities: Baby  Showers, Mother-Daughter Breakfast, and other activities are offered in support of Heartbeat of Monroe, and other organizations that support our fight against abortion.
   

• Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Basket: The Parish provides food baskets to those less fortunate during the Holidays, including a turkey with all the fixings. Please let us know if you or someone you know could benefit by receiving a food basket.
   

• Advent Giving Tree: Each Christmas our Giving Tree is filled with ornaments indicating items that we can donate to those less fortunate.  The people of St. Anthony generously give of themselves during this Holy Season in support of area families. If you are in need of assistance during the holidays, please let us know.
   

• Coat Collection: Every October, coats, jackets, sweaters, blankets, gloves, etc. are collected and delivered to the Toledo Rescue Mission.
   

• Helping Hands (Funeral Luncheons): This organization provides lunches for mourners after the funerals of parish members. All registered families are included on the call list and are asked to provide a dessert
  to pass (two to three times a year).   Envelopes to donate to the Helping Hands fund are also available in the Narthex.
  
  Volunteers to  help set-up for luncheons are most welcome.
