Religious Education
The staff and volunteers of the St. Anthony Religious Education Program are dedicated to collaborating with parents and guardians in leading their children to Christ. Our goal is to teach in a clear manner the Catholic Faith, handed down to us by the Apostles. The goal of the St. Anthony RE program is to come to know the Blessed Trinity and to develop a friendship with Jesus by encountering Him in Scripture and Tradition (Sacraments, Church Teaching, Prayer and Devotions). We accomplish this in an atmosphere that reflects love and respect for each student.
Religious Education is offered for Grades 1-8
Classes meet Mondays (September – May) 5:00pm – 6:15pm in the School

OCIA – Order of Christian Initiation for Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process through which interested adults and older children are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life. St. Anthony’s follows the two-year program required by the Archdiocese of Detroit for instructing non-Catholics in the teachings of the Church. We begin with a series of informal discussions in September. If those attending are interested and agree to the commitment required, then formal classes begin around November or later if more discernment is needed. The classes cover Church history, the formal teachings and traditions of the Church, liturgical season and celebrations, the sacraments as well as various long standing pious devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Saints.
RCIA meets on Mondays 6:30pm in the Magdalene House.
